$300,000 for Swan Child Care Centre upgrades
The Swan Child Care Centre in Western Australia will receive more than $300,000 to refurbish the building housing its community long day care service.
Federal Minister for Community Services, Larry Anthony, announced the funding today as part of the Government’s Capital Replacement and Upgrade Program.
“This funding will enable repairs and upgrade to essential facilities in the child care centre to comply with health, safety and licensing requirements,” Mr Anthony said.
“It is essential the centre has the appropriate facilities to meet the demand of local families.
“Once the major redevelopments to the service are completed, the demand for flexible, work related child care should increase.
“Community-based long day child care centres play a vital role in providing access to high quality, affordable child care to thousands of Australian families.
“The Federal Government wants to ensure all parents and children enjoy a safe, nurturing and healthy child care environment.”
