New Child Care Places For South Australia
An extra 139 childcare and 180 family day care places in South Australia will be created under the Government’s New Growth Strategy for children aged zero to 12 years, announced today by Federal Minister for Community Services, Mr Larry Anthony.
The Federal Government has given $256,573 to create the extra childcare and family day care places across eight outside school hours care services and five family day care schemes.
“This round of grants is just one part of the Federal Government’s ongoing commitment to providing South Australian families with a range of care choices for their children,” Mr Anthony said.
“Providing quality care for children gives working parents more choice and helps them balance the demands of work and family.
“Approximately $203,000 in Childcare Assistance will be paid to eligible families using these new services, and the Childcare Cash Rebate will further help in meeting child care costs.
“It is essential that families are able to access subsidised child care when schools are not operating, and eight of the selected services are specifically designed to cater for school aged children.
“The Government’s child care program promotes equal access for all families to child care services that best suit their individual needs.”
