Swan hampers privacy investigation

Minister for Community Services, Mr Larry Anthony, has ordered an immediate investigation into alleged breaches of privacy.

“This is a serious matter and I am appalled that Mr Swan did not come forward earlier to admit that he had knowledge of this alleged breach of privacy” Minister Anthony said.

“I have ordered the Department of Family and Community Services to investigate this matter. However, it appears from Mr Swan’s own admission, from his offices’ “auditing” with the files, that they are not Centrelink files.”

“Instead it appears that Mr Swan has put self-promotion and politics ahead of responsible community service.’
