Government awards $65m in NDIS information grants to help connect and build up disability community
Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Stuart Robert, has today announced more than $65 million to assist Australians with disability, their families and carers to more easily access high-quality and up to date information about living with disability.
The grants awarded under the NDIS’ Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) National Information Program, will increase the accessibility, quality and consistency of information via national platforms over the next three years.
Minister Robert said the 37 funded organisations are expected to deliver diverse, innovative and accessible resources to assist people with disability across every state and territory, increasing individuals’ ability to choose and access disability supports and services that are right for them.
‘The NDIS ILC National Information Program represents a $65 million investment to assist people with disability to live more accessible and connected lives,’ Minister Robert said.
‘This program is about building up Australia’s disability community through empowering a diverse range of organisations to deliver projects and activities across the country providing up-to-date, high quality information about living with disability,’
‘It is great to see around a quarter of the grant recipients are organisations run by and for people with disability and their families – these are organisations with lived experience stepping up to build a more connected and informed disability community.’
The value of individual grants ranges from around $400,000 up to $9 million. The list of successful grant recipients is available at the following link: https://www.ndis.gov.au/community/grants/funded-projects
