New Opposition policy on the baby bonus

The Australian Government notes the new Liberal Party policy announced today to remove the means test on the baby bonus.

The new Leader of the Opposition, Tony Abbott, announced the policy in the Sydney Morning Herald today:

‘Whacking the means test on was dead wrong. I’d like to see that means test come off.’

The Government looks forward to seeing the full details of this new Liberal Party policy, including the full costings associated with removing the means test on the baby bonus.

The Government will be responding to this new Liberal policy in full, once these details have been released.
