2003 National Youth Roundtable to present findings
Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Larry Anthony, will receive the recommendations of the 2003 National Youth Roundtable at the final meeting at Parliament House in Canberra tomorrow.
“Over the past six months Roundtable members have been working on some very interesting projects dealing with issues such as youth homelessness, foster care, young carers, living in regional and rural areas, developing local community solutions to local problems and opportunities for enterprise development by young people.
“This week roundtable members have been meeting Members of Parliament and Ministers including Deputy Prime Minister, John Anderson, Minister for Immigration and Indigenous Affairs, Phillip Ruddock and Minister for Employment Services, Mal Brough.
“The Australian Government is genuinely interested in the views of young people and welcomes the opportunity to speak directly with them to learn more about what they think.
“I am looking forward to seeing how their projects have developed and hearing some fresh approaches on these important youth issues,” Mr Anthony said.
