SDN Childrens’.Services – Woolloomooloo.
“The diverse make up of Australian families means that they need a range of child care choices to balance their work and family commitments.
“The new brochure, Things you need to know about Child Care Benefit, will be a valuable and comprehensive source of information about the options families have with Child Care Benefit.
“The Coalition Government’s more generous support for child care through Child Care Benefit has substantially reduces the costs of child care.
“It includes information about eligibility requirements for Child Care Benefit and contact details for where families can find out more about child care services.
“Child care is a success story of the Coalition Government. More Australian families have access to quality and affordable child care than ever before.
“There are currently around 500,000 families using approved child care for more than 720,000 children. We have made a record commitment of $8 billion over the next four years to 2005-06 to ensure quality child care.
“We have also provided funding for families who need flexible child care. Families living in rural and regional areas and those doing shift work have benefited from assistance to ensure care fitting their needs is provided and available.
“Access to affordable and reliable child care is a major part of the Coalition Government’s commitment to supporting families and we have delivered,” Mr Anthony said.
Things you need to know about Child Care Benefit will be available through Family Assistance Offices and Commonwealth approved child care services.
