Childcare services receive training in new benefit
More than 100 Child Care Benefit training seminars will be held across Australia over the next three weeks, the Federal Minister for Community Services, Larry Anthony announced today.
“Commonwealth-funded childcare service providers will participate in training seminars, starting today, to learn about the Government’s new Child Care Benefit,” Mr Anthony said.
“Child Care Benefit, part of the New Tax System, will support families by providing payments to those who choose from the wide range of different child care services.
“Training material has been specially designed to help child care service providers learn about this new simplified system which will begin from 1 July.
“Approved providers will also learn the new system through a ‘learning package’ which includes a step-by-step cartoon planner, a workbook and a video.”
Minister Anthony said the training material had been enthusiastically welcomed by the industry.
“The learning package represents a new approach to educating child care service providers and will help them with the introduction of the new Government benefit changes,” he said.
“In June, child care services will also be invited to a satellite television session at over 150 Centrelink sites nationally.”
