South Australia child care services receives funding boost
Federal Minister for Community Services, Larry Anthony, today announced an extra 331 child care places would become available in South Australia for school aged children.
The Federal Government will provide $90,467 in establishment, set-up and equipment grants to 13 outside school hours care services across the state.
“Working families in South Australia will benefit from having more choices when seeking a quality child care facility,” Minister Anthony said.
“In addition, more than $93,000 in Childcare Assistance will be paid to eligible families using these new services, and the Childcare Cash Rebate will further help in meeting child care costs.
“It is rarely easy balancing the demands of work and family but it is essential families are able to access subsidised child care when schools are not operating.
“This latest round of funding demonstrates the Government’ commitment to providing all families with access to suitable child care facilities.”
South Australian families who need more information about child care can call the Federal Government’s national Child Care Hotline on 1800 670 305.
