Media Release by The Hon Bill Shorten MP

Opening of new Orana Administration and Netley Business Service

A new location for Orana’s Administration as well as a new Business Service at Netley will better assist more than 130 people with disability employed through this valuable organisation.

Bill Shorten today officially opened the new building, which was supported with over $1.18 million in funding, under the Australian Government’s Business Service Assistance Package (BSAP).

“The funding covered costs associated with the management, infrastructure, relocation and support for employees to ensure the transition to the new location runs smoothly,” Mr Shorten said.

“Orana is one of the ‘big four’ disability service providers in South Australia, with over 430 clients, nine business service outlets and an annual operating income of around $10 million.

“The Australian Government also funds Orana, across its nine locations, with over $3.9 million each year to continue its great work.

“Orana offers services such as packaging, manufacturing, commercial cleaning and gardening and a worm farm.

“This purpose built location will help with the everyday comings and goings needed to continue this successful business,” Mr Shorten said.
