Labor at odds over child care

“Labor doesn’t know what it’s doing with child care,” Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, Mal Brough, said today.

“When asked whether his early childhood development plan would mean a reduction in costs, Kevin Rudd replied ‘No, no, I’m not saying that at all.’ (Today Show 30th January 2007)

“Yet in an article in the Caboolture News yesterday, Jenny Macklin stated the plan ‘…will help reduce costs.’ (Caboolture News 9th May 2007)

“It doesn’t appear anyone in the Labor Party knows what’s going on at the moment or what the impact of its policies would be.”
