Queensland police commitment welcome

I welcome reports this morning that Queensland will provide 10 police to the effort to protect children in the Northern Territory.

Premier, Peter Beattie’s commitment is very welcome and I thank him for it. Queensland now joins New South Wales and Victoria in agreeing to assist in this national emergency.

I have today offered to meet with Mr Beattie to directly discuss the NT reform package.
