Extension to permit consultation

After consultation with the Northern Land Council (NLC) and others, the Government has decided to extend the permit system discussion paper consultation period until the end of February.

I reiterate this is about removing the permit system from public places such as townships and not private property such as sacred sites or homelands.

I look forward to further extensive consultation and to hearing as many views as possible in that time period.
