Young Recruits Start ‘Life Games’ Training

I am pleased to launch today the new “Life Be In It” Leadership Training Manual, which will be of great use to trainee Life Games Leaders.

Funding of $21 200 has been provided to “Life Be In It” by the Federal Government to go towards the production and promotion of the manuals.

The training program and manual assists young people to become leaders in community activities like school sports days, corporate events and fundraising events.

“Life Be In It” has trained Life Games Leaders for many years and now our funding is encouraging local councils to participate for the first time. The Port Adelaide Enfield Council has recruited these latest trainees and organised this training workshop that is starting today at Hillcrest.

The trainees will learn leadership skills, team building, confidence development and occupational health and safety as part of this program.

These valuable skills can be applied in many other areas of life and employment opportunities.

This initiative is being funded under the Stronger Families and Communities Strategy.

With over 400 projects funded since January 2000, at a cost of $57.4 million, the Strategy is making a positive impact on communities across Australia.

People requiring more information on the Strategy can call the South Australian Office of the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services on 1300 653 227.
