The sudden passing of Sue Salthouse is immensely saddening. Sue was a passionate advocate for people with disability and a member of the NDIS Independent Advisory Council.

Beyond her Council role, Sue made significant contributions to the NDIS and played an integral role in establishing the ACT trial site.

Sue was the co-chair of the ACT Disability Expert Panel, advising on the NDIS. She was also the president of Women with Disabilities Australia from 2009 to 2012, and was the current Chair of Women with Disabilities ACT.

Sue was awarded the 2020 ACT Senior Australian of the Year in recognition of her 25 years of advocacy and striving for improved access to services, education and employment for women with disabilities.

We are saddened by her loss and send our sincerest condolences to Sue’s family and friends.
