Register events now for International Day of People with Disability

Clubs, community groups, schools and businesses are encouraged to hold an event to celebrate International Day of People with Disability on 3 December 2018.

Assistant Minister for Social Services, Housing and Disability Services, Sarah Henderson, said the United Nations day aims to help break down barriers for the 4.3 million Australians living with disability.

“By holding an event, you are celebrating the diversity of your community as well as helping make Australia a more inclusive place for everyone,” she said.

“We all have a role to play to ensure people with disability have the same opportunities to reach their full potential,” Ms Henderson said.

“We already have over 300 public events registered nationally. The International Day of People with Disability website is a great place to start for event ideas and resources to help plan your event.”

Public events happening on or around International Day of People with Disability are listed on the website for people to browse by state or territory.

Event registrations are now open.
