Rockhampton’s NDIS Partners announced
Carers Queensland and BUSHkids will share more than $23 million to deliver Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) and Local Area Coordination (LAC) services in Rockhampton as part of the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The Hon. Jane Prentice, Assistant Minister for Social Services and Disability Services, congratulated the two organisations on their successful applications to deliver these services in Rockhampton for the NDIS Partners in the Community Program.
“This Program provides funding for community organisations to partner with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to help deliver the NDIS across the country,” Mrs Prentice said.
“BUSHkids has been funded $6.2 million to provide ECEI services while Carers Queensland will receive $17.2 million to provide LAC services as the rollout of the NDIS continues.
“These organisations have extensive local knowledge and experience in assisting people in the community with a disability and children with developmental delay.
“The start date of the roll out of the NDIS in Rockhampton has been brought forward meaning more Queenslanders will have access to the NDIS sooner.
“This investment in regional Queensland will ensure participants are well supported as they transition into the NDIS.”
LAC services focus on assisting NDIS participants with plan development, implementation and review while ECEI services deliver outcomes for children and their families through best practice and a family-centred approach.
The NDIA will announce future NDIS Partners in the Community Grant Rounds for the remaining service areas in Queensland soon. Information will be made available on the NDIS website www.ndis.gov.au
