Recognising outstanding Australian Disability Enterprises

Nominations for this year’s Australian Disability Enterprise Excellence Award are now open and will close on 27 June 2014.

I encourage staff, customers and anyone who is aware of a deserving organisation to nominate for this year’s award.

The Australian Disability Enterprise Excellence Award recognises employers which offer meaningful work and support to people with significant disability, and showcases innovative business practices across the sector.

Australian Disability Enterprises play an important role providing employment and training opportunities for 20,000 Australians with disability.

The award recognises their important role and acknowledges and highlights new ideas and ingenuity in the sector.

Australian Disability Enterprises make a huge difference in the lives of people with disability, who receive substantial ongoing support in the workplace.

They deliver a range of services such as graphic design, printing and metal fabrication through to catering, packaging, recycling and landscaping work.

The winner and two runners-up will be announced on 21 August 2014 at the National Disability Services’ Disability at Work conference in Sydney.
