Another bogus claim in clubs scare campaign
The latest claims from Clubs Australia that they will lose $6 billion in annual revenue simply do not stack up.
In 2008-09, Australians lost $10.5 billion on the pokies in pubs and clubs. (Productivity Commission Inquiry Report into Gambling Volume 1 2010, p2.5)
There is no way that clubs will lose 60 per cent of their annual pokies revenue from the Government’s changes to help pokie addicts.
The Australian community won’t be bullied by this $20 million scare campaign.
