Liberals won’t commit to National Disability Insurance Scheme
Today the Shadow Treasurer, Joe Hockey, confirmed the Liberals do not put people with disability first.
On SKY News Mr Hockey said the Liberals would only commit to a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) when there was a “strong surplus”. He gave no indication of what this meant or how long people with disability would have to wait for a scheme under a Coalition Government, instead he said “under us you will get a full NDIS when we can afford it.”
Tony Abbott and the Liberals have no plans for Australia – all they will do is hurt people with disability, their families and their carers.
In fact, the last time the Liberals were in government disability funding went backwards.
This Labor Government is getting on with the job of delivering for Australians with disability.
We’ve delivered $1 billion for a launch of an NDIS from mid next year, and we’re continuing work toward a full scheme.
Tony Abbott and the Liberals are miles behind when it comes to helping people with disability.
