Chaotic Coalition will only hurt families
Tony Abbott’s own colleagues are yet again revolting against his unfair policies that will hurt Australian families.
The Nationals Senate Leader Barnaby Joyce has today revealed he and his colleagues will fight Tony Abbott and Joe Hockey’s plans to slash the Government’s increased FTB payments for parents with newborns, which is replacing the Baby Bonus.
At the same time as he promises to slash this support, Tony Abbott wants to make all families pay for his rolled gold paid parental leave scheme – so that wealthy lawyers and bank executives can receive up to $75,000 when they have a baby.
Barnaby Joyce and the Nationals know this is completely unfair – and they join a long list of other Coalition MPs who are openly revolting against their leader.
The Coalition will continue to be divided and chaotic on this issue so long as their only policies are to hurt low and middle income families.
The Gillard Government has made the responsible decisions in the Budget to make sure our family payments system is strong and sustainable for the future. Tony Abbott’s only answer is to hurt families.
We’ve seen it before – he has repeatedly promised to axe the Schoolkids Bonus, leaving 1.3 million families behind.
And we’ll see it again – Tony Abbott and Joe Hockey have said themselves that everything is on the table.
Australian families have a choice – between a Labor Government that looks out for them, or an Opposition Leader who just wants to cut to the bone.
